Over three dozen businesses in the downtown Long Beach shopping district are decked out in their holiday best to welcome holiday shoppers and usher in the Christmas season. While these businesses have put on their finest holiday apparel for customers, it is also a part of the annual Festival of Lights promotion created by the Downtown Long Beach Associates.
City officials and the Long Beach Development Service Department recently announced some amendments to its policies regarding the opening of new businesses in the area. In an effort to be friendlier to businesses and hopefully draw new businesses to the city, officials have removed some of the red tape that was previously involved with opening businesses in Long Beach.
Four Long Beach businesses, Sweet Jills Bakery, Paris Tailors and Cleaners, Fingers and Toes Spa, and Saga womens clothing, will all soon be located in a new building. When the building on the corner of Corona and Second Street in which the quartet is currently housed was sold, it was uncertain whether all four businesses would be able to find another Long Beach location large enough to accommodate all of them. Their fears have now come to a rest, however, as the four local businesses announced this month that they had found a new location only two blocks away.
Ability Center, a provider of mobility products and services, has recently announced that it will soon be offering an even wider range of services and products to residents in the Orange County area.
Networking is going to be the focus for Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce members, with a networking lunch and a breakfast being hosted in the coming days. With interesting guest speakers and informative discussion being featured at both, attendees stand to gain quite a bit from getting involved with these events.
